At present, it is very necessary to carry out cathodic protection for tank bottom plate. The bottom plate of oil tank is usually on asphalt sand. With the increase of time, the asphalt sand will gradually age, and cracks will appear in the foundation cushion, which will make the groundwater contact the tank floor through the cracks. On the other hand, the quality of the tank will deform for a long time with the height of the internal liquid. If these two factors occur at the same time, the service life of the fuel tank will be greatly shortened, even dangerous. Therefore, more and more enterprises pay attention to the cathodic protection of oil tanks.

In the process of construction, the cathodic protection detection device should be installed together with other cathodic protection systems. When the test device is installed, the position shall be set along the direction of the protection pipeline, and the distance between two adjacent test devices shall be between 1km and 3km. For pipelines passing through towns or industrial parks, the distance between adjacent test devices shall not exceed 1km. If the test is carried out in the area disturbed by stray current, the distance between the test equipment shall be properly encrypted.

The installation environment of the test device generally includes: the intersection or parallel section of the protected pipeline and the AC / DC electrified railway; the place where the insulated joint is installed; the place where the grounding system is connected; the location where the metal sleeve is installed; the site where the protected pipeline is connected with other pipelines or structures; the place where the auxiliary test piece is connected with the grounding device; and the ground where the pipeline crosses the surrounding road or dam Point; passing by railway or running water; adjacent to external metal structure buildings, etc.

During the installation of the test device, at least two cables should be connected to the protected pipeline. The cables used should be distinguished by color or other signs, and the whole line should be unified.
